Different Types of Carpets and Their Uses

Want to change the look and décor of your home? Don’t want to spend thousands on decorative floorings then you can go for decorative and elegant carpets and rugs to add a new and bright touch. Carpets are available in various colors, designs and types. You can select it according to your taste and according to the theme of your room. Some people like floral designs while others prefer geometrical designs. So this is purely personal choice.
The types of carpets available on the market include; woven carpets, tufted and needle felt carpets, flat weave, hooked rugs knotted pile, cut and loop piles, Saxony and textured Saxony, velvet/ lush carpets, frieze, and level loop pile carpets. All these are different according to the making. These are made by different techniques and all of them are incredible.
Woven carpets are made just like woven cloth. Tufted carpets are made by tufting machines. Colorless yarns are also used in tufted carpets which are later dyed to give it color. Flat weave is oriental carpet which is made by interlocking warp.
Needle felt are technologically advanced carpets and they are manufactured by electrostatic attraction of individual fibers to form a unique carpet. These are highly durable carpets. Cut and loop pile as indicated by the name includes both looping and cutting technique.
Saxony consists of two or more fibers that are twisted together in a yarn. They are tightly twisted cut piles which are set straight by heating. Textured Saxony is also one of its kinds and is available in diverse range of colors. Luxurious plush/velvet carpets are very formal and are quite soft. They have a uniform color and so are perfect for formal areas. Frieze and level loop pile are extremely graceful and heavenly carpets.
